Qualification Overview

The QNUK Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (QCF) is the ideal assessing qualification for those assessing in both a work environment and in a training centre.

The qualification has 15 Credits and you will undertake around 80 hours of study. You will be observed assessing learning.

Course Structure

This qualification has following three units of worth 15 credits:-

Unit 1 Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (3 credits)

In this unit, you will be able to:-

  1. Understand the principles and requirements of assessment
  2. Understand different types of assessment method
  3. Understand how to plan assessment
  4. Understand how to involve learners and others in assessment
  5. Understand how to make assessment decisions
  6. Understand quality assurance of the assessment process
  7. Understand how to manage information relating to assessment
  8. Understand the legal and good practice requirements in relation to assessment

Unit 2: Assess occupational competence in the work environment (6 credits)

In this unit, you will:-

  1. Be able to plan the assessment of occupational competence
  2. Be able to make assessment decisions about occupational competence
  3. Be able to provide required information following the assessment of occupational competence
  4. Be able to maintain legal and good practice requirements when assessing occupational competence

Unit 3: Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding (6 credits)

In this unit, you will:-

  1. Be able to prepare assessments of vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
  2. Be able to carry out assessments of vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
  3. Be able to provide required information following the assessment of vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
  4. Be able to maintain legal and good practice requirements when assessing vocational skills, knowledge and understanding

Entry Requirements
  • No previous experience required
  • Learners must be aged 19+ to apply for this course

Assessment

This qualification is assessed through professional discussion, workplace observation and a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates the leaner has met the required assess-ment criteria in full. Learners are required to complete all units to achieve the full qualifi-cation. Learners’ evidence are marked by an assessor and moderated by the external quality assurance officer (EQA) before certificates are awarded to the candidate.
